Valentine's Day Pencil Craft

We made some Valentine's Day pencils. They are fun and easy to make. They are great for gifts for friends too.

For supplies, you just need some pencils (those with Valentine's themes are best, of course), foam sheets, pipe cleaners, and small decorattions like glitter, stickers, craft jewels, etc.

Make a small heart template. A 2 inch heart is a good size. Trace the heart on your foam sheets.

Cut out the hearts. We also used a black marker to outline our hearts. Glitter glue around the edges would be really cute too. You will also need to poke a tiny hole in the bottom of the heart.

Now decorate your little heart. My kids just love the little craft jewel stickers. I found some in heart shapes that were just perfect for this project.

Rachel decorated some hearts as well.

Next you thread one end of the pipe cleaner through the hole in the heart. Pull just enough through the hole to be able to loop it down and twist to itself.

Then simply wrap the pipe cleaner around your pencil and you are done.

Nicholas made a special pencil for his girlfriend. He got really creative and came up with this idea all on his own.

It's amazing what you can do with a little foam, stickers, and pipe cleaners!
