Restaurant Week Preview at Chamberlain's Steak and Chop

I was honored to be one of the 20 bloggers invited by June Cleaver Nirvana and the Texas Beef Council to preview Restaurant Week 2011 at Chamberlain's Steak and Chop House.

Restaurant Week is an incredible annual fundraiser event in DFW. You can dine at 125 restaurants in the Metroplex that each develop their own special Restaurant Week menu that includes 3 course meals for $35 a person. The most amazing part is that $7 of your meal will go towards the North Texas Food Bank or Lena Hope Home in Fort Worth.

Restaurant Week 2011 starts Monday, August 15 and continues through August 21. The restaurants on the list this year are top-notch in the DFW area.

Come on in and I'll share my preview night at Chamberlain's.

Chef Chamberlain has pulled together an incredible menu for Restaurant Week. You get to choose from three appetizers, 2 entrees, and 4 desserts.

We were treated with a personal review of the menu by Chef Chamberlain himself. Having an in-depth explanation of how each item on the menu was prepared only made them sound even more enticing. Oh my!

After much deliberation, I decided to start off with the Duck Confit Spring Rolls with Chopped Lettuce Salad and Maple Mustard Vinaigrette and a nice glass of Pinot Grigio. It was beautifully presented but I wasn't quite sure of the correct way to eat it. But I just dove right in.

For my entree, I was delighted to see my plate of Strube Ranch Kobe Beef Sirloin with Yukon Mashed Potatoes and a Roasted Garlic Chimichuri arrive. The steak was so tender and juicy and the chimichuri could go well on so many different kinds of dishes. It was really delicious.

Dessert was the most exciting! Almond Bread Pudding with Amaretto Caramel Sauce. I love any kind of bread pudding.
It was delish! I wanted to lick the bowl but then I remembered where I was.
We are excited about Restaurant Week 2011. We'll be heading over to Sullivan's Steakhouse in Dallas for a little more of that wonderful Texas Beef!

Thank you, June Cleaver Nirvana and Texas Beef Council for a delicious meal, great laughs, and a wonderful evening. 1. I had the bread pudding as well. My dessert plate looked exactly the same when I was finished. Amazing!
