Solar Print Paper

Nicholas loves science experiments.  Grandmother C. sent him some Solar Print Paper and he's been having so much fun with it!

For his first print, he chose an oak leaf from our back yard.  He put it on the paper and let it sit in the sun for a few minutes.

When he checked on it, he found that the sun had faded the paper and turned it from blue to white except for where the leaf had been covering the paper.

He then soaked the paper in some water to stop the reaction.  This will keep the paper from continuing to fade so the blue part will remain blue even in the sun.

He thought that was so cool!  He's hooked.  He found more objects to use in his solar prints - Legos and toy tools.

How cool!  I can see that we will need to get more of this paper soon!
