Sea Monsters

One of Nicholas' friends gave him a Sea Monster kit for his birthday. I remember having these when I was young but they were called Sea Monkeys. They are actually called Triops and they are prehistoric shrimp that have been around for 200 million years. In the kit, we got a informational poster, an acrylic Sea Monster house complete with purple castle, sand, dried triop eggs, and a food packet.

Nicholas prepared his Sea Monster house with sand on the bottom and then he filled it with distilled water.

Then he added the dried Sea Monster eggs. Pretty unimpressive at this stage since it just looked like some dirt floating on the water.

However, the eggs have hatched and it's been fun watching these little teeny tiny shrimp swim around in their home. Now if we can just remember to feed them every two days!
