Dancing The Night Away

Last night we went to a fundraiser dinner/auction for the Flower Mound Defense Fund to support a group of citizens working to protect the residents of our town from the potential dangers of gas drilling near homes and schools. They have filed suit against the town to determine if our oil and gas ordinances are valid, whether they have been properly applied, and to request a permanent injunction against the town over the proposed drilling at Hilliard Field. There were balloons every where, a live band, and good food.

Our kiddos really enjoyed the band. They were bouncing in their seats while waiting for their food to come out.

This event was also a fundraiser so there was a silent auction with items that had been donated so that all money from the auction. There were lots of great items to bid on including a winery tour, gift baskets, jewelry, and classes for kids.

I'm most proud of this one auction item in particular. Stuart donated a portrait session and 1 8x10 print as an auction item and it brought in a $105.00 donation! Yay! I suggested that he put up the framed picture so everyone could see how great his work is.

After dinner, the kids ventured out to the dance floor to get groovy!

We all had a great time catching up with friends, enjoying good food, and dancing the night away. Oh, and I won an auction item! I had the winning bid on a month of art lessons at the Art House. The lessons are valued at $85 but I got them for just $30. I'm so excited because I really love the Art House and have always wanted Nicholas and/or I to take an art class there. Yay!
